OCEE Teacher of the Year: Ann Kennedy, Southeast High School

The Oklahoma Council on Economic Education (OCEE) is pleased to announce the 2014 OCEE Teacher of the Year has been awarded to Ann Kennedy, teacher from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City Public Schools.  The award presentation was held during the OCEE 2013 Annual Meeting held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Oklahoma City Branch.

The award given each year, recognizes classroom teachers (elementary, middle and secondary) who have made outstanding contributions to the teaching of economics and/or personal financial literacy in the public or independent schools of Oklahoma. Ann Kennedy has been teaching for 27 years and is an OCEE Master Teacher of Personal Finance and has led several initiatives in training and preparing fellow Master Teachers to teach others and as well as develop and prepare state specific lesson plans regarding HB 1476 Passport to Financial Literacy.

“Ms. Kennedy is passionate about teaching and improving the understanding of economics and personal finance among students and teachers in our state,” said Amy Lee, OCEE Executive Director. “We are thrilled to honor Ms. Kennedy in this way, OCEE and the State of Oklahoma are very fortunate to have her enthusiasm to help prepare our young people for the real-world.”
