SMG Competitive Divisions and Awards

Participating Oklahoma public and private school teams will compete against other participating schools in the same divisions (grades 4-8 and grades 9-12) and regions (NE, NW, SE, and SW). Teachers, homeschool students, and other participating adults will be ranked separately.

Rankings are determined by the value of the common stocks, mutual funds, bonds and cash in the ending portfolios. The Oklahoma Council on Economic Education recognizes the first-place team in each division at a lunch and awards program held in Oklahoma City hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City – Oklahoma City Branch.

Winning teams recognized at the awards program will be expected to prepare a presentation outlining particular components of how they played the game, the choices they made and the concepts learned.  Details about the presentation and the awards program will be provided to winners each semester.
